Let us do the heavy lifting! Board & Trains for pointing dog training available through the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Any goal from puppy raising to finishing. Programs start at four weeks, extended programs available.

PUPPY START (UNDER 5 MONTHS)

A proper foundation for a new puppy is the difference between raising an okay dog and a great dog. Send your puppy off to pros to get the best start at life and let us handle the hard stuff. No sleepless nights, no potty training, save your clothes and skin from sharp puppy teeth…

This program is specifically for puppies 8 weeks to 20 weeks. They can start any time in that timeframe and stay as long as needed until you’re ready to take them back and start your training with them. We have raised a handful of puppies for ourselves and clients that have gone on to become incredible adults. Here’s an idea of what we’ll tackle when they are with us:

Crate training
Potty training
Basic leash breaking
Socialization to new dogs, people, kids, new places, etc.
Tolerance for handling and grooming
Intro to birds for bird dog puppies
Foundations for future learning (varies for each puppy from basic obedience to handling for field work)

The added benefit of sending a puppy off at this age is receiving an in depth evaluation of your puppy’s temperament to help you know what to prepare and train for as the puppy matures. Length of your puppy’s stay varies depending on your specific needs.

BIRD DOG TRAINING (5 MONTHS & UP)

“Advanced training is just the basics done really well”

Sending your dog off to a pro at this age ensures they receive the most important information at exactly the right time. For young pointing dogs the most important piece of the puzzle is wild birds. Access and time are the two things standing between you and a great future of hunting with your companion. We have access to prime Grouse, Woodcock, Sharptail, and Pheasant country all within a stone's throw of our kennel. We get out multiple times a week to run dogs on these birds and give them the proper guidance and encouragement to grow into bird finding machines.

As a dog gets older and our expectations for their ability to handle birds increases, this is another reason we are the best choice for your goals. Our home base is set on 300 acres of woods and pasture that is ideal for teaching handling, developing confidence, and pushing your dog to be the best they can be.

If field trailing is a goal of yours, we have experience and success in developing and handling dogs in Cover Dog Trials around Minnesota and Wisconsin.

This program is available in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Once the snow flies, our books close until the thaw.

HOW TO BOOK

Visit our client portal to request a stay for either Boarding or a Board & Train program. Create an account or login and follow the prompts on the screen.

NOTE: Reservations must be made at least 7 days in advance. For last minute boarding requests, please text or email us.

When requesting Board & Train, actual start dates vary depending on our availability. Please choose the 1st to the 2nd as your dates and then select which program you're interested in. Once we receive your request we will reach out to coordinate specific dates.

After your request for either boarding or Board & Train is received, you will receive a follow up email from us about your dog's stay. Please allow up to 48 hours for us to get back to you. Your reservation is not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email and your deposit is paid.
